As published in an unknown newspaper in December 1933:

Climaxing a lingering illness, John Esterline, 73, retired business man of the Yellow Springs community, died at his home there Monday afternoon.Born in Enon, O., November 6, 1860, Mr. Esterline spent his entire life in Yellow Springs.  He was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Esterline.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nettie Bogan Esterline; three sons, Wilbur Esterline of Dayton, William Esterline of Springfield, and Raymond Esterline of Yellow Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Oster of Yellow Springs; four brothers, Edward, Elmer, Daniel and Charles Esterline, all of Yellow Springs, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Grindle, of Yellow Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the residence.  Burial will be made in Glen Forest Cemetery.
