With the start of the Major League baseball season right around the corner, it seemed appropriate to highlight the 1895 Antioch College baseball team today. Please note that the photograph of the Antioch College baseball team is from 1900, whereas the article was written in 1895.

As published in the Yellow Springs Torch on April 19, 1895:

The base ball game between the Ohio State University team and the Antiochs, will be the attraction of the season as the O.S.U. club contains three Yellow Springs boys in their nine and it will be hard for the people to decide which club should be entitled to the loudest yell. The local  club say they are going to take some of the starch out of the Columbus team or bust a suspender.  It will be the hottest game that has been played here for a long time and no one should fail to see it.
